I february 2005 I have finished my studies at Utrecht University in The Netherlands. For a long time already I have been interested in the environment and the interaction between the environment and the human being. This is why my final research is about Community Based Ecotourism. My main knowledge about this topic I have learned in Quilotoa, a community in the Ecuadorian Andes.
Ecotourism and Community Based Tourism
Ecotourism is a kind of tourism which is used more and more. Since the developing of ecotourism in the 1980s, developed a lot of different kinds of ecotourism. A good kind of ecotourism is a kind of low-impact tourism which is good for the environment and for the local culture, for this generation as well as for the next generations. This kind of tourism is called COMMUNITY BASED SUSTAINABLE TOURISM.
